Catarina joined the European Vaccine Initiative in June 2019 as Project and Communication Manager. She obtained a PhD in Translational Neuroscience from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, in 2018. During her PhD and first Post Doc at the Central Institute of Mental Health in Mannheim, she worked on neurobiological mechanisms of addiction.
Throughout her academic career, Catarina has also been actively involved in science communication activities, not only through teaching activities at the university but as a visual communication team leader at the German Neuroscience Olympiads, and a science advocate and public speaker in science slams and other sci-comm events.
At EVI, she is involved in project management of cross-cutting activities and coordinates external communications activities, including project-related communication and dissemination. Catarina is committed to consolidating EVI’s profile, advocacy and knowledge-sharing efforts.
